After his memory is erased, a teenage boy is placed into a remote community with other teens and they learn that they must work together to escape the perils of a giant maze; when the Gladers search for clues about an organization called WCKD, they find themselves trying to make it through a desolate wasteland known as the Scorch; when the Gladers break into the legendary Last City, controlled by WCKD, they discover that it is the deadliest maze they've encountered.
